The Path - Thursday this Week

The recording equipment that we use to record The Path is the same equipment we use to record Divine Services in the church and also the same equipment we will be using for live broadcasts of Divine Services. In other words, that equipment is being used a lot these days! And because of that we just can't get The Path done by Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. this week. But we will have it done by Thursday at 6:00 p.m. and that is when it will be published - this week only. Thank you for your understanding!

All Saints of Russia Sunday

Please find the sound files from Sunday, June 14 at the links below. We would like to call your attention to the Divine Liturgy file. This is the first file we are able to publish with our newly-installed microphones that provide a much better reception of both the choir and the clergy. Please provide us feedback - this is a work in progress. With Bishop Peter's blessing we hope to soon be able to provide live broadcast of our Divine Services. We ask your prayers in that regard. See you soon at St. Vladimir's!

The Path for Wednesday, June 10, 2015

It is funny how life sometimes sends you a curve ball. Or ten. It seemed impossible to get The Path out today. But then it happened. Man proposes...

This week's Path includes lots of important announcements, a commentary on why all of us need to have a ministry, and some really nice liturgical highlights from last week's Divine Services. Join us on The Path!

All Saints Sunday

Please find links to the full Liturgy for All Saints Sunday, as well as the sermon separately, at the links below. This is such an important Sunday, but sadly one we often overlook. This is also the Day of Youth in the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad. Thank God that many young people were able to be in church on this day, to partake of the Holy Mysteries, and also to exhibit their posters from their Church School class this year. It was a wonderful Sunday. Thank you to all who made it thus.

The Path for June 3, 2015

This week at St. Vladimir's we celebrated the great feast of Pentecost - the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and desciples and the birth of the Holy Church as we know it today. Liturgical highlights in this week's Path all come from the feast - both the Vigil and the Divine Liturgy. As well as a few seconds from Kneeling Vespers. See if you can find those few seconds! Weekly announcements are included as always, as well as a commentary on the 1000th anniversary of the repose of St. Vladimir and the martyrdom of Sts. Borish & Gleb - what these mean to us today and especially to our parish, since we are one of the three centers of the diocese that will be hosting special St. Vladimir Day celebrations to make this great jubilee year of our patron saint. Please join us on The Path!

War Recollections of St. Vladimir's Parishioners

On Sunday, May 24 we had the very unique opportunity to hear from several of our parishioners who survived the difficult years of World War II. This year makes the 70th anniversary of the end of that war, and we have taken the opportunitiy of this significant anniversary to create a memorial to all Orthodox Soldiers and those who died in war. That memorial, with Bishop Peter's blessing, will be blessed on the day when the Orthodox Church commemorates all Orthodox Soldiers: the feast of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist. The recollections of our parishioners who survived the war coincided with the beginning of the work on our memorial. Following the time spend hearing from those who survived the war we planted the bushes that will surround and beautify the memorial. Below please find the sound file from the talk. We hope you find it edifying - we did.

Pentecost Sunday Divine Services

Thank God we had a wonderful Pentecost Sunday at St. Vladimir's! Not only was the church full to overflowing, nearly 90 people partook of the Holy Mysteries from two chalices. Congratulations to all with the great feast! Below please find links to the sound files of the feast.

Memorial Saturday - All English Cycle - Children's Liturgy

The day before the great feast of Pentecost is always a memorial Saturday and at St. Vladimir's we do our best to serve these special days when we commemorate our parish family who have departed this life but who live in Christ. This year the Saturday before Pentecost was part of our monthly All-English Cycle of Divine Services. The Liturgy was also a Children's Liturgy at which the young people sang, served in the altar, prepared the meal, and otherwise performed all duties that are necessary for the parish church to function - with minimal adult supervision. Please find the sound files from this memorable and prayerful day at the links below.
